New Parkland Hospital

Project Description

Parkland Hospital is one of the busiest public hospitals in the United States, with more than 1 million patient visits each year. But demand for Parkland services continues to grow.

 

The new 2.5 million-square-foot Parkland campus is located on the north-east corner of Harry Hines Boulevard and Medical District Drive. At nearly twice the size of the current hospital, the new Parkland has been designed to meet the ever-changing needs of Dallas County – one of the largest, fastest-growing regions in the country.

Our Role

Hatcher Technical worked with post-tensioning hardware supplier VSL, design engineer Datum Engineers, and contractor BARA to perform a constructability review of the nine post-tensioned cast-in-place concrete transfer girders. As part of this review, Jason developed fully integrated 3D CAD models to show all the girder post-tensioning hardware, and integrated reinforcement. With the review complete, Jason worked with the project team, identifying the congestion and areas of concern, and developing appropriate solutions.
